There are multiple types of online advertising nowadays available on the Internet. Which type of advertising is the best? Which one is most suitable, and will increase revenue, for my business? I shall attempt to describe three popular types of advertising in the rest of this article.
Pay Per Click (or PPC for short) advertising works on a basis of the advertiser paying a certain amount for every click that users click. It is an advertising model most frequently used on search engines (e.g. Google.com, Yahoo.com, MSN.com), content websites and/or blogs. The PPC type of advertising is good for businesses with a stipulated budget, and a need to control that budget.
Pay Per Action (or PPA for short) advertising works on a basis of the advertiser paying only when an action has been carried. The action can be a form being filled out, joining a membership, or an actual transaction being completed. The action will be determined by the advertiser. It is an advertising model most frequently used on sites which provides a platform for sale of actual products (e.g. eBay.com, Clickbank.com, Commissionjunction.com).
Pay For Inclusion (or PFI for short)
advertising works on a basis of the advertiser paying for their product or service being included in the
advertising platform. It is an
advertising model most frequently used on sites that provide free online classified ads (e.g.
Ablewise.com Free Classifieds) or in directory listings (e.g. Yahoo directory listings).
